Skin Tightening | Pellevé

Skin Tightening

Pellevé is a non-surgical skin rejuvenation treatment that tightens the skin and improve wrinkles with minimal downtime.

How does Pellevé work?

Pellevé utilizes an advanced radiofrequency technology to stimulate collagen contraction and skin tightening, lessening wrinkles and improving skin tone and appearance. The Pellevé system heats the collagen in the deep layers of the skin, stimulating collagen production and remodeling.

Is the treatment painful?

Treatments are performed without topical anesthetic and should not be painful. However, you may experience mild discomfort or warmth. Following treatment there is generally mild swelling and redness which usually subsides within 24 hours.

What areas can be treated with this technology?

Pellevé is FDA approved for the treatment of mild to moderate facial wrinkles. While it is not FDA approved for treatment of other areas it can also be used for skin tightening and treatment of wrinkles and lax skin on the neck, chest, backs of the hands, arms, above knees and on the abdomen.

Are there any contraindications to treatment?

Patients with a pacemaker, history of trigeminal neuralgia, or nerve sensitivity to heat, autoimmune disease, who smoke or who are or have been on Accutane, Amnessteem, Claravis, Sotret in the past year, are pregnant or breastfeeding, taking steroids or immunosuppressive therapy or have cuts, wounds or infections in the area to be treated should not undergo treatment with Pellevé.

Do I need to do anything prior to treatment ?

Patients with a history of cold sores or herpes infection must take anti-viral therapy beginning one day prior to treatment and for five days following treatment. Patients must also remove all jewelry and makeup prior to treatment. Men should be clean shaven.

How long is the downtime following treatment?

You may experience mild swelling and redness following treatment but are able to resume normal activities immediately following treatment. A cool pack may be applied immediately following treatment. We recommend that you avoid exercise for 24 hours and wear a broad spectrum physical sunblock following treatment.

How soon after treatment do patients see results?

Immediately following treatment your skin will appear rejuvenated and refreshed with continued improvement over the ensuing months with ongoing collagen remodeling. In the study submitted for FDA approval, results persisted for up to six months following a single procedure. Additional procedures can enhance and extend results.

How many Pellevé procedures are recommended for the best results?

The optimal number of treatments varies with your age and the condition of your skin. While some patients can achieve optimal improvement in a single treatment, other patients may require two or three treatments for optimal improvement. Biannual or annual treatments are sometimes recommended thereafter.

Can Pellevé be used along with fillers and Botox?

Yes, Pellevé treatments can be performed along with other ant-aging and skin rejuvenation procedures.

What is the difference between Pellevé and other radiofrequency treatments?

There are a variety of radiofrequency and ultrasound devices being used for skin tightening and wrinkle reduction. Pellevé, unlike many of these devices does not require anesthetic and has minimal downtime. Some other radiofrequency treatments are significantly more painful and require sedation or anesthesia.

How much do treatments with Pellevé cost?

The cost varies depending on the area being treated, the number of areas being treated and the number of treatments performed.
