The Fraxel laser is used to rejuvenate the skin by delivering microscopic columns of laser energy, stimulating collagen production. Since only a portion of the skin is treated during each session, a series of treatments is required for maximal benefit. Patients can usually return to normal activities with minimal downtime. Moreover, because of ongoing collagen stimulation, the initial benefits continue to accrue gradually over several months. In addition to the face, the Fraxel laser can be used to rejuvenate the neck, chest and hands.

While not all tattoo pigments can be improved or eliminated with laser therapy, lasers are highly effective at removing many unwanted tattoos. Lasers with a variety of different wavelengths are needed to remove a wide range of tattoo pigments. The MedLite dual wavelength laser delivers very short, high intensity pulses that selectively destroy black, blue and red ink pigments with minimal damage to the uninvolved skin. Multiple treatments are needed for maximal clearing.
